| Program Content: The program provides
classroom and shop experiences which enable students to become proficient in
the installation, repair and maintenance of commercial and domestic air
conditioning and refrigeration and heating systems. The laboratory contains
a variety of commercial equipment, including walk0in coolers, refrigerated
display cases and large central air conditioning units. Content also includes record-keeping, basic supervisory skills, use and care of hand tools, power tools and equipment, and use of current industry standards, practices and techniques. The course/program also provides supplemental training for persons or currently employed in these occupations. |

| Major Appliance and Refrigeration Repair |
| Program Description: Students in this
program will learn operational and electrical theory, troubleshooting
techniques, repair and maintenance of refrigerators, freezers, air
conditioners, ice makers, washers, dryers (gas and electric), dishwashers,
compactor, ranges (gas and electric), and microwave ovens. Content also
includes customer relations, record-keeping, basic supervisor skills, use
and care of hand tools, power tools, specialized tools and equipment, and
use of current industry standards, practices and techniques. The course/program also provides supplemental training for persons or currently employed in these occupations. |

| Applied Welding Technology |
| Program Description:
This course includes specialized classroom and practical experience in the
cutting and joining of metal parts through the application of intense heat,
using gas, and electric welding equipment. Applications include welding (OAW),
fusion and non-fusion welding, shield metal arc welding (GMAW). The skills
for cutting metal include OAW (flame cutting) equipment and plasma arc
cutting equipment. Related skills include print reading and layout, metal
identification and math. Content also includes use and care of hand tools,
power tools, specialized tools, and equipment, safe and effective work
practices and use of current industry standards, practices and techniques.
The course/program also provides supplemental
training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. |

| Building Construction Technology |
| Program Description:
Electrical Wiring: Prepare students for employment or advanced training in a variety of construction electrical industries. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills, stresses the understanding of all aspects of the Electricity Industry. Carpentry: Prepare students for employment in the carpentry and cabinetmaking industry with a stress on basic carpentry/cabinet making skills. This cluster of programs on broad, transferable skills, stresses the understanding of the carpentry and cabinetmaking industry and demonstrates elements of the industry such as planning, technical and productions skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety and environmental issues. Masonry: Prepare students for employment as had tile setters. The content includes, but is not limited to, communication skills, leadership skills, human relations and employability skills, safe and efficient work practices, proper care and use of hand tools and equipment, title setting materials, basic blueprint reading, trade math and estimating materials for tile setting. Shop or laboratory activities are an integral part of this program and provide instructions in adhesives, bedding materials, clay wall applications, masonry bed application, layout, setting, cutting, and grouting of ceramic tile. Plumbing: This cluster of programs focuses on broad, transferable skills, stresses understanding of all aspects of the pipe industry, and demonstrates elements of the Pipe trades industry; such as planning, management, finance, technical and productions skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues and health, safety, and environmental issues. Laboratory Activities: Classroom, shop and
laboratory activities are an integral part of this program. These activities
include instruction in the use of the safety procedures, tools, equipment,
materials, and processes found in the industry. Equipment and supplies
should be provided to enhance hands-on experiences for students in the
chosen occupation. In addition, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity,
student received on the field training (at construction site). |

| Automotive Service Technology |
| Program Description: Basic
automotive skills are taught in the automotive auto-core program along with
electronics and theory for engine performance and advanced system diagnosis.
After auto-core, students receive advanced training in the eight areas of
ASE testing, with preparation skills provided to pass the ASE certification
tests in each of the eight specific areas, as well as, the advanced engine
performance test. ASE areas include:
In addition students receive instruction in safe and
efficient work practices; employability skills, basic management concepts,

| Advanced Automotive Technology (Honda PACT) |
| Program Description:
The Honda Professional Automotive Career Training (Honda PACT)
Program entered into a cooperative agreement with Robert Morgan Educational
Center, Miami-Dade Community College, and Broward Community College, to
address the need for highly trained Honda and Acura automotive technicians. The PACT was developed as a two-year vocational training and college study program, leading to a vocational certificate and an Associate of Science degree in Automotive Service Technology. The program includes academic study, laboratory application, and on the job work experience at Honda and Acura auto dealership and repair centers. American Honda provides the technical curriculum, product donations, advisory support, tools and technical training. The training is conducted on late model vehicles only. American Honda continuously updates the vehicles and equipment to ensure state of the art technology for participating students. Having a long established relationship with American
Honda Corporation, the Honda PACT Program at RMEC has enjoyed an outstanding
employment placement rate for graduating students. Over 95% of the graduates
have been employed at a Honda Dealership or Service Center. |

| Heavy Duty Truck and Bus Mechanic |
| Program Description:
Specialized classroom and shop experiences are utilized to enable the
student to become proficient in repair and maintenance of heavy trucks
and buses. Instruction includes experience on large diesel engines, complex
transmissions and differentials, air brakes and other components that often
are radically different from those in automobiles. The program content includes use and care of hand tools, power tools, specialized tools and equipment, use of current industry standards, practices, techniques and basic hydraulics welding, electricity and electronics. The course/program also provide supplemental
training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. |

| Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing |
| Program Description:
Specialized classroom and shop/lab experience will enable the student to
become proficient in various phases of the repair of damaged automobile
bodies and fenders, including body frame and alignment. Instruction includes
welding and cutting; metal straightening by hammering; smoothing areas by
filling, grinding and sanding and concealment of imperfections; painting and
replacement of body parts, components and trim, use of parts and repair
manuals, price lists and manuals used in estimating and pricing to
customers; record keeping; shop safety and housekeeping; care of hand tools;
specialized tools and equipment; and use of current industry standards,
practices and techniques, and paint mixing. |

| Program Description: Students
in the Commercial Art Program at RMEC receive instruction in the production
of advertising copy from concept to finished product. Student are trained n
industry safety, marketing, advertising, computer illustrations, scanning,
image manipulation, desktop publishing, design, typography, employability
skills, portfolio preparation and more. The classroom is set up to emulate
the actual art department of an advertising agency. Creativity, artistic

| Program Description: This
program offers a broad of knowledge and skiils to prepare students for
employment in digital media, new media, and multimedia positions. The
content includes practical experiences in 3-D Animation design and
production. Specialized skills including video editing, audio
features, and animation and authoring software are used to produce a variety
of multimedia productions.
The program focuses on broad, transferable skills
and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following rudiments of
the digital media/multimedia industry: production planning, elements of
production design, storyboarding, integration of video, graphics, animation
and audio elements into new media projects/productions and
collaboration/teamwork. Laboratory activities are an integral part of this
program and include the use of keyboarding systems; computer systems and
digital equipment for storage, scanning, retrieval, presentation, CD
recording, video and printing purposes. |

| Electronic Technology |
| Program Content:
The
program consists of theory and practical experience dealing with the basic
building blocks of all electrical circuitry. Program content includes AC and DC units, solid stat devices, analog circuits, digital techniques, microprocessors, use of schematics diagrams, soldering and assembly techniques, laboratory practices and trouble shooting, human relations, employability skills, and safe and efficient work practices. The program provides many hands-on laboratory activities. Students receive individualized instruction, as well as lectures, demonstrations, learning activity packages, interactive video activities and small group discussions at the discretion of the instructor. Field trips, workshops, film strips, computer circuit simulation and video trips are also used. Student advance at their own rate and may move through the competencies at a rate that allow him/her to derive the maximum form the instruction.
